Nathan Ratledge

Nathan is the Founder and Principal of Apogee EP.  An energy economist and environmental policy expert, he has over a decade of experience in renewable energy, emissions mitigation, energy efficiency, public financing and resource conservation. Previously Nathan was a principal investigator with Resources for the Future, an economic think-tank in Washington, DC, and Executive Director of the Community Office for Resource Efficiency (CORE) in Aspen, Colorado.  

Nathan returned to graduate school to pursue a PhD at Stanford's Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources (E-IPER). His work at Stanford focuses on clean energy in the developing world through the lenses of economics, finance, and systems design.  He received an MPA from Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs, where he was awarded the David Bradford prize.  Nathan graduated summa cum laude as a Foundation Fellow from the University of Georgia (BA).

laura zachary

Laura is Managing Director of Apogee EP. She has managed a series of energy and climate initiatives as a consultant for Resources for the Future, The Wilderness Society, and the Aspen Mobility Lab, amongst others. Laura spent the fall of 2016 conducting research for the Energy and Climate Team at the White House Council on Environmental Policy.

Prior to her work in DC, Laura worked on electricity and climate policy in New Jersey, urban planning and waste reduction for the City of San Antonio, and water and sanitation issues while implementing a municipal health program as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala. Laura received an MPA and a certificate in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy from Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs. She graduated with honors in International Relations from Tufts University (BA) as a Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service scholar.
